Democrat leaders in Washington spent little time trying to bolster Boyda's chances of retaining her seat after her now infamous inteview with Charlie Gibson on ABC news by allowing her to sponsor legislation to remove pensions from former Members of Congress who are convicted of bribery, etc. The only way to acheive such an "honor" as a freshman is to be viewed as one of the 5 members most in danger of losing their first bid for re-election.
I like the legislation. It's long overdue. But, don't let the Boyda spin machine fool you. As this WIBW story rightly points out - "the Democratic leadership is helping Boyda raise her profile to impress her constituents back home."
Dedicated to the proposition that Nancy Boyda is a one termer.
