Murtha/Pelosi Money

Nancy Boyda ran on "cleaning up" the ethics of Congress. Turns out its all talk.

Earlier this year, Rep. John Murtha was caught red-handed using strong arm tactics. As Republicans questioned his earmarking of money, he threatened to strip earmarks from anyone who spoke out against him, including Rep. Todd Tiahrt.

Nancy Boyda voted to kill the resolution that would have reprimanded Murtha for the tactics that were in violation of the spirit if not the letter of the House rules.

Boyda was rewarded handsomely with a $5000 PAC contribution from Murtha AND $10,000 from the PAC of Murtha's "Protector-in-Chief" Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Yes, nearly 10% of Boyda' s haul for party loyalty in the face of better ethics.

But, of course, Ryun took thousands of dollars from out-of-state religious conservatives who don't represent mainstream Kansas values..but, well, that's ok.

Difference is Nancy Boyda ran using a them of cleaning up politics as usual and attacked Jim Ryun for taking Washington PAC money.

I guess that all changed once the election was over.

Exactly, it's hypocrisy on Boyda's part . . .

boyda took money from other members and member's leadership PACs that makes it quite a bit different.

Actually, that makes it more of the same!! Boy are you a bad spinner for Boyda.

naw, leadership money isn't special interest money

But the leadership money she is accepting comes from corrupt legislators like Murtha and Steny Hoyer. Each carries baggage like Tom DeLay did.

Can the first poster define what he or she believes are mainstream Kansas values? Just out of curiosity.

First, Boyda said she didn't want the DC Frontline money, much of that comes from Leadership.

Second, where do you think the leadership money comes from . . . it comes from special interest PACs.

Take a look at Boyda's FEC report and the reports of the Dem members involved in Frontline. Notice a pattern? She's "not participating" in name only. She's still getting the checks.
