Nancy Boyda visited the Pitt State Tech Center - a Tech Center Jim Ryun helped get off the ground with funding about 10 years ago.
Boyda didn't mention it. Instead, she was using the event as a photo-op to show that not all her pork projects (see the fake prison museum) were bad special favors to lobbyists.
Here at Bounce Boyda, we never claimed all direct federal spending in the district is bad. We do believe that getting thank you campaign events from lobbyists is bad and that funding for fake prison museums leaves a lot to question.

Ryun was back in Parsons as part of his campaign to retake the seat. Now that Ann Charles and her anti-Ryun vendetta at the Sun are gone, there would be fair treatment of a Ryun-Boyda III race.
Dedicated to the proposition that Nancy Boyda is a one termer.

Ryun-Boyda III? Umm ... there is a primary here and there will not be a Ryun-Boyda III. Showing your true colors or just a mistake John?
Ryun not only helped get the Tech Center off the ground he also routinely obtained federal funding to keep the technology equipment new and state-of-the-art.
it says there "would be" fair treatment of a Ryun-Boyda III race, not "will be" fair treatment. There's a big difference.
sigh...
Um, Jenkins crowd, it is looking like a Ryun-Boyda III. No one is seeing Jenkins outside of Topeka (list some events for us and I'll change that) and she's probably tapped out on fundraising.
I'm a Boyda supporter, but there have been nearly half a dozen Jenkins events and very few public events for Ryun. Sending direct mail all over the country and doing marathons and autograph sessions in Hawaii takes time.
Go to the Jim Ryun website and take a look at the photo gallery. Ryun has been all over the district with events of all kinds. Don't make a stupid statement without the facts.
Ya, he shows up at basketball games and other public events to which he wasn't necesarily invited. I go to basketball games every week, but I wouldn't call it campaigning.
He showed up at a Shawnee County Republican event last summer .... he came late .... left early .... and spent most of his time sitting down at table with his wife. He had very little interaction with those in attendance.
On the other hand, Lynn Jenkins came and interacted with everyone ... they invited her to be the auctioneer for the event and she was one of the last people to leave.
Boyda is the one I wonder about. She still hasn't been to the county where I live. Ryun was here at least 4 times per year. And, Jenkins hasn't been here yet either.
I am from the Moran area. Jim Ryun was invited to the Marmaton Valley and Baxter Springs basketball game and then for a meeting after the meeting.
I believe Mr. Ryun also attended the Uniontown basketball game with friends and had several meetings that day with business leaders in the Pittsburg and Fort Scott area.
Like an earlier poster said, don't say stupid things without knowing what you're talking about. I
I'm a business owner in Louisburg. We invited Jim Ryun to visit our business, interact with the employees, sit down to dinner with the staff, and then for a meeting to discuss various government regulations that negatively impact our business and ability to hire additional employees.
I am a reporter that has covered elected officials for years. During the Ryun-Boyda II campaign all I heard was that Ryun had forgotten his district, that he never came back, yada, yada, yada. I can tell you this: Boyda is rarely in her district. If she could only be half as good as a Representative as Ryun, we'd have something. Instead, we have nothing.
She hasn't been in your county? I'm pretty sure she visted every count at least once within the first few months of being elected. All I know is that when I've called the office to ask about where she is going to be I'm told she's traveling the district and then a day later her photo is in at least 2 separate papers from around the district. She's in the district traveling around a lot more than Ryun. I think people just aren't used to it.
Where's Nancy? Here's your answer...
