Money Chase

With the deadline passing at midnight Saturday, we're just a couple weeks from the release of the second quarter fundraising numbers for the three candidates in the Second District race.

So, let's hear your projections for:

Boyda
Jenkins
Ryun

How much will they have raised this quarter and how much cash on hand will they report?

Boyda raises $160K, spends $40K.

Jenkins raises $225K, spends $40K.

Ryun raises $150K, spends $90K (Ryun polled and brought on a full time campaign manager, so he will spend more).

I'm hearing Boyda raised $172K this quarter. From a friend of one of her Topeka staffers. She spent $29K.

Ryun raises $150k. In addition, he receives another $150k in the form of sweetheart real estate deal with a Russian oil company. Not all of Ryun's lobbyist friends have been indicted yet, so he can raise a great deal of money in DC.

Third quarter fundraising will be even more impressive. Ryun's dear friend, colleague and neighbor Mark Foley will be hosting a special fundraising party "just for the guys."

Jenkins and Boyda are way behind Ryun in fundraising. The fools ... they're only accepting political contributions. Ryun's fundraising plan involves taking unreported contributions in the form of sweetheart real estate deals. Ryun's laughing all the way to the bank.

har har har.
ryan wright sure spends a lot of time talking about sweetheart deals...how did he get his sweetheart deal when getting fired from moran's office?

I'm betting Ryun quits the race after disappointing 2nd quarter numbers, Boyda resigns but Sebelius fills the position with Steve Boyda and Jenkins switches parties to run against Lee Tafenelli.

for another REAL guess: Boyda raises 175K, Ryun at $275K and Jenkins at 200K

to expand my above post...i don't know how much they'll report on hand

Ryun: $185K
Jenkins: $205K
Boyda: $190K

No idea of cash on hand but I'd have to think Boyda has seriously closed any gap with Ryun.

I predict that McCain drops out of Presidential race by end of summer. He'll end up cutting a deal with Fred Thompson.

The race will come down to Thompson, Giuliani and Romney.

Boyda raised $172,318 in the 2nd quarter.

As a Republican with friends on both sides, I understand Ryun has approx $450,000 on hand at June 30 and Jenkins has $125,000. Interesting to note, Jenkins raised hers in Kansas and Ryun raised his out of state with help from Club for Growth.

Kris Kobach has also weighed in for Ryun this quarter, calling the host of a Jenkins' fundraising event in Lawrence, to take them to task for helping her. Not a good sign for Lynn.

Ryun at $200k
Jenkins at $175

Boyda at $140

my friend in nancy's office says she raised $152,500 this quarter.

Kris Kobach is apparently showing his true colors and proving true what everyone thought, he will be a disaster as GOP head. Taking sides in this primary is not a smart move. If he continues it will further erode the GOP in the state. He should resign immediately and let someone who will work for all republicans back in the job. Shame on him.

Not really surprising that Kobach would do something like that, but I did think he would be a smarter party chair. He maybe should talk to Lynn once in awhile to see how the campaign is going and stop trying to hold her back. He is riding a dead horse and he'll get left behind when Ryun loses. Tihart is also placing a lot of bets on Ryun, maybe safe in Wichita, but he should think twice if he wants to run for Gov or Senator.

I think I know why Kobach is working against Jenkins. She must be an abortionist, who worked outside the home and probably immigrated to this country illegally and is sucking the tax payers dry. I am not supporting Jenkins either now that Kobach has set me straight.

You forget that it is not the KS GOP anymore it is the KRA that is running things. Kobach should keep up his support for Ryun and make sure all the moderates leave the party. Kobach should do a press release asking Jenkins to get out of the race and throw her support to Ryun. Go Kris

Back to the original question. Have heard that Ryun will have about $500,000 in the bank, including about $100,000 bundled from Club for Growth. Not sure on Jenkins, but would be surprised if she raised $100,000 after getting a late start and not even being an announced candidate yet.

nice try ktrm and ryan wright...

anyone that knows anything about kobach is that he doesn't like ryun.

ryun backed adam taff in the 2004 primary for the 3rd district. kobach has never forgiven him for that and has directed party staff (whats left of them) to not help ryun in any way whatsoever.

on the other hand, kobach apparently is a huge supporter of jenkins - he sees jenkins as his shot to make his chairmanship a success.

a jenkins win = a successful gop chairman. hey, at least it would be a win, better than the freeman/shallenburger clan.

so, basically, the people writing that kobach is interfering in the primary are liars, fools and are part of the ktrm smear campaign against the party.

right, ktrm, you are "true" republicans. when is ktrm's next press release bashing Pat Roberts coming out?

If Kobach supports Jenkins he sure has a funny way of showing it. Ryan Wright did not write that email, I know because I did. Kobach did call the host of the fundraiser period. End of story. If Kobach supports Jenkins he better start stepping up.
