Ryun Fundraising

From The Hill Newspaper, Jim Ryun is already off to a bang for his 4th Quarter fundraising efforts, and those efforts don't officially begin for 11 days.

"Former Reps. Jeb Bradley (N.H.), Melissa Hart (Pa.) and Jim Ryun (Kan.) join three challengers to perennial GOP targets and three challengers taking on freshman Democrats in the first batch of top-tier candidates to get fundraising help from the Republican Conference."

"The event, which is set for Oct. 24 at the Capitol Hill Club, has raised between $75,000 and $100,000 per candidate in the past and is expected to raise a similar amount this time."

As we've said before, this is a mixed bag for Ryun as he will be accused by the Jenkins and Boyda camp of being too cozy with DC. But, Ryun will walk away with 75,000 to 100,000 reasons not to care about those accusations.

Ryun is also referred to as a "top tier" candidate in the article, which will likely make the Jenkins camp upset as well. While the flyer for the event did carry a disclaimer that the NRCC was taking no position in the primary, it seems as though Ryun's former colleagues think highly enough of him to want him back.

Also of note, Nick Jordan will be a beneficiary of this fundraising effort. A clear sign the Republicans believe he represents our best shot at picking off do-nothing Dennis in the 3rd CD. I think it's outstanding that Moore has joined Boyda as a Top 10 target.

has ryun paid the debt off he had from last quarter yet?

only his campaign would know that . . . I'd assume so. Look for good $$$ raised this time, but without much COH increase . . .

The thing with how Ryun was raising the money is that he is taking the long view, i.e. spending money now prospecting for new donors, who then will keep contributing without spending very much at all for their future contributions. It usually works, but we can only wait and see.

you going to credit Blue Tide Rising for pointing out this story, or are you going to act like the hack you are?

hasn't Dennis always been a target, and hasn't he always whooped @$$?

Gosh, you're right. Give Blue Tide Rising the credit. Whew, glad we cleared that up-since the story ran just yesterday in The Hill.

Gotta think the Jenkins crowd isn't happy with the state of affairs.

I think Ryun did pay off his debt, but even if he didn't, it's under $90,000, isn't it? Unlike Boyda who is carrying well over $200k in debt.

I am a disillusioned Boyda voter. I just posted the following comment on Blue Tide Rising. Watch how quickly it is yanked.

Boyda has done nothing in her stint, absolutely nothing. See was credited with sponsoring a piece of ethics legislation, but it was written by others and cherry picked for her.

oooh! fight! fight! fight! fight!

(why wouldn't you read BTR? Shouldn't know know the mind of the enemy?

Anonymous said...

You're assuming BTR is worth reading . . . or that it's tough to figure out the mind of the enemy.

Umm, I checked and it looked like BTR and Bounce Boyda posted this information within 30 minutes of each other . . . So what BTR is saying is that Bounce Boyda is sitting at their computer, waiting to steal post ideas from BTR and get them up on their site within 30 minutes? And why is that exactly? Get over yourself Blue Tide.
