Reporters Hate to Be Lied To

The headline tells a truism when it comes to dealing with reporters . . . they hate being lied to and they will tend to point it out.

Rep. Nancy Boyda (D-Kan.) is holding a fundraiser with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi next month, despite previously rejecting financial assistance from House Democratic leadership.

Boyda’s spokeswoman told the Politico in February she was turning down the assistance because she wanted “to run an independent campaign.”

Now, will the local media start reporting the hypocrisy?

Nancy Boyda is simply not an honorable person or one that can be believed. Even members of her own church know that the only time she darkens the doors of the church are during campaign seasons or for quasi political events. She is a joke!

What are the odds that the Cap Journal will say something? I say zero.

nancy boyda is twice as honorable as jim ryun- and the cap-journal, rightly, isn't going to jump all over itself about a non-story- money raised by a Kansas candidate from Kansans

Are you sure she's not three or four times more honorable? Heck, maybe even five times more honorable. I think that's a good campaign slogan, "Boyda: She's 5 times more honorable that anyone else in this race."

Boyda's tired excuse that it's "money from KS" is pathetic. I mean, c'mon, if it's all about depending on Kansans, why is it necesarry to bring in the SF liberal? Especially since it's exactly what Boyda promised not to do...and frankly, we Kansans believed her. No longer...she won't get my vote.

No. Did you just get here?

whatever you people want to believe- Boyda is raising money in kansas with the help of a celebrity. you wouldn't be so upset if it was tom hanks or someone...

Jim Ryun never lied about taking support from leadership. In fact, he was quite proud of it.

Ryun was Tom DeLay's man. Tom DeLay financed Ryun's campaigns. Tom DeLay even arranged for Ryun to get a sweetheart deal of a townhouse (... thru a dummy organization set up by DeLay's staff and finance by Jack Abramoff using Russian oil company money).

Ah, yes, the townhouse again. You mean the sweetheart deal of paying $80k over the tax assessed value? Sounds like a steal to me.
I am really disappointed you didn't add Foley in there to make it complete.

I don't think Ryun ever said he wouldn't take leadership, PAC or "DC money." Boyda did. In other words, she lied to the voters in the 2nd District. And hoping her friends at the Cap Journal keep covering for her.
