Boyda Lied

Nancy Boyda stood in front of a camera, taped a commercial, and ran it on the air. On the commercial she said, "I'm not going to raise your taxes."

Well, she lied.

Just a few hours ago, Nancy Boyda voted for the Democrat budget which would raise taxes by $400 billion over the next five years - it would be the largest tax increase in history.

Funny how it's just another example of Boyda saying one thing to get elected last fall, but then going to Washington and doing something different.

So, Boyda voted for a bloated Supplemental Appropriations bill that was full of pork as payoffs for votes, now she's voting for a tax increase to pay for it. Tax & Spend. Yep, that's the liberal mantra. Then again, Boyda is voting with Nancy Pelosi 98% of the time and Pelosi is a liberal from San Francisco, so it makes sense.

[Update: 10:47 am] The Kansas Republican Party has sent out a press release hitting Boyda on this vote. And, they included one fact I should have pointed out, not only did this raise taxes by $400 billion over five years, but for next year it proposes to raise non-defense spending by $24 billion over the President's request. TAX and SPEND!

And they asked: Why does Nancy Boyda want to increase taxes at the expense of hard-working Americans?

By voting YES on Roll Call vote 212, Boyda supported:
* Raising the 10 percent tax rate bracket to 15 percent that wouldraise the taxes of more than five million individuals and families whopreviously owed no taxes.
* Eliminating marriage penalty tax relief, which would cause tax hikesfor 23 million taxpayers and middle-class families, on average, by $466 in2011.
* Cutting the child tax credit in half. This tax increase would raisetaxes for 31 million taxpayers and middle-class families, on average, by$859 in 2011.
* Increasing the Death Tax by $91 billion dollars.

largest tax increase in history . . . here's betting none of the lazy reporters in Kansas will call her out for lying.

Spot on!

But what did you really expect.

By the way, the master of spin, Josh Roseanau at Thoughts From Kansas, has the GALL to DENY that this is "really" a tax increase.

I swear, they can have your hand literally in your wallet and say it really YOUR hand, not theirs, and that your eyesight is just bad.

Josh Roseaunau may live in Kansas but his thoughts are from outer space... somewhere around the Oort Cloud.

We should start a pool and see when and if a KS newspaper reporter writes an honest story on Boyda instead of the puff pieces they call reporting. Seriously, let's start something!

Nancy seems more and more like a Dingbat in Wonderland. She should have checked with Bill Kassebaum about how smart it is to spend your first term raising your constituents' taxes. But it's apparent that she just takes orders from someone way outside the Second District.

I found those exact wordings in a local paper's mailbag letter, in the Citizen's Voice in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. These phrases:

With his March 29 yes on Roll Call vote 212, Mr. Carney supported:

n Raising the 10 percent tax rate bracket to 15 percent. That would raise the taxes of more than five million individuals and families who previously owed no taxes.

n Eliminating marriage penalty tax relief, which would cause tax hikes for 23 million taxpayers and middle-class families, on average, by $466 in 2011.

n Cutting the child tax credit in half. This tax increase would raise taxes for 31 million taxpayers and middle-class families, on average, by $859 in 2011.

n Increasing the Death Tax by $91 billion dollars.

Funny, those are YOUR exact wordings!!! What's going on here???
